Individuals who wish to obtain a certificate in Business Management for Engineers must:
- Complete the following courses for a total of six credit hours:
- Sales and Marketing for Engineers (1 hour)
- Managing Advanced Technology (1 hour)
- Finance for Engineering Managers (1 hour)
- Technology Innovation and Strategy (2 hours, online only)
- Additional course in leadership/communication/negotiation (1 hour)
- Earn at least a B- in each course
- Submit the following materials to the TEC upon completion of coursework:
- Application form (available online)
- Transcript of the courses you’ve completed toward the BME certificate
- Processing fee: $65 check made payable to the University of Illinois
Please note: students will not be able to earn both a Strategic Technology Management (STM) and a Business Management for Engineers (BME) certificate. Students are encouraged to choose one certificate that most closely aligns with their goals.
