Your Progress

We often receive questions about what courses are available at the Center, which courses are more advanced than others, the courses that are available to undergraduate and/or graduate students, or in which order one can (or must) take our courses. The graphic listed here shows all of the TEC courses and their approximate level, in terms of difficulty of content (introductory, intermediate, advanced). In terms of order in which one can take the courses, there are any number of variations. We have tried to identify as many of these questions as we can and answer them below. If you have a question about one or more TEC courses and/or programs that you do not see answered here, please e-mail us at tec@illinois.edu, or call us at (217) 244-3124. We will personally answer your question and, where appropriate, post it and the answer below.

Legend:

  • A "TC" following a course name signifies that this course counts toward completion of the undergraduate certificate in Technology Commercialization.
  • An "STM" following a course name signifies that this course counts toward the graduate certificate in Strategic Technology Management.
  • Some courses do count toward both certificates.
  • A dotted arrow signifies a desirable, but not required course sequence.
  • A solid arrow signifies that the course in front of the arrow is a prerequisite for the course following the arrow.
