Up to four microgrants of up to $500 each will be awarded to residents of Innovation LLC for the purpose of prototyping their project ideas. The Microgrant Program partners are the Technology Entrepreneur Center and the Department of Residential Life.

The Cozad Finals Event will include presentations by the finalists. Judges will view the presentations and have an opportunity to ask questions. This event is not open to the public. However, all are invited to view the Cozad Awards Ceremony which will be held on April 14. See details below. (Finalists are chosen after the Semi-Finals Event held on March 31.)

 The campus-wide Cozad New Venture Challenge to helps students accelerate their ideas and create new businesses with funding, mentoring, and more. The competition provides mentoring to teams through the phases of venture creation; and teaches them about idea validation, pitching skills, and customer development.

The Illinois Innovation Prize (IIP) for $20,000 is awarded annually to a creative and passionate student working towards solutions that could have a positive societal impact. The Fiddler Innovation Fellowship for $10,000 from Jerry Fiddler and Melissa Alden is an annual student scholarship awarded by eDream to an undergraduate student who shows promise of significant, innovative achievements. Jerry Fiddler believes that the most interesting and urgent problems and opportunities often lie “between the cracks”. This award supports innovations that address cultural or global challenges that incorporate creativity, the arts/design, and technology into interdisciplinary solutions. 

Join the Health Maker Lab in selecting the next great ideas in Health Innovation! Carle Illinois College of Medicine’s annual Health Make-A-Thon will be held Saturday, April 17 from 2:00-5:00pm. Twenty finalists have been selected by an independent pool of judges to pitch their ideas to improve health during the live virtual competition. Ten winning teams will receive an Innovation Coin backed by $10,000 in resources, materials, and mentorship. This includes access to the Health Maker Lab node network of design and making facilities at UIUC and the community to design, fabricate, and prototype their idea.
