John Paul
John Paul is a Clinical Professor of Innovation, Leadership, and Engineering Entrepreneurship at the Technology Entrepreneur Center, and a Grainger Engineering alum.
Paul is the founder of VenueNext, a leader in point-of-sale, mobile commerce and loyalty solutions which is used by every major professional sports league, colleges, and many other business verticals. VenueNext was started in 2014 by the San Francisco 49ers, during the development of Levi's Stadium.
Before VenueNext, Paul spent over 35 years as a founder, CEO or executive leader of product and engineering teams at startups and major American technology companies like Banyan Systems, Compaq Computer and Siemens. Most recently, he was senior vice president at Dish Digital where he created Sling TV. Paul created one of the first photo-sharing services, Our Pictures, which was acquired by Simple Star. Before that, he was senior vice president and general manager of the server division of Netscape, which was sold to Sun Microsystems for $1 billion.
