Doug Reed

Doug joined TEC as Regional Entrepreneurship Programs Coordinator in January 2025. Prior to arriving at the University of Illinois, Doug most recently worked at the University of Minnesota Morris as Director of the Morris Challenge, a sustainability-focused initiative aimed at increasing the university's engagement with the region and solidifying its position as a center for comprehensive rural sustainability.  

Doug has also worked for two of North America's industry leading trade associations, The National Association of Convenience Stores and Material Handling Industry, leading marketing, membership, education and IT teams and delivering world-class events to their members.

In his position with TEC, Doug will build and launch innovative programs that will help aspiring entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality within The Grainger College of Engineering, the University of Illinois, and the broader Midwest region.
